Latoya Owens, LMHC-A

President

Latoya Owens, LMHC-A, is a compassionate and dedicated clinical mental health counselor with a deep commitment to helping individuals heal from trauma, anxiety, and depression. Her approach to therapy is rooted in proven methodologies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(CBT), attachment theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), all aimed at providing clients with tools to navigate their struggles in a safe and supportive environment.

Latoya’s work with the Department of Child Services (DCS) opened her eyes to the pressing need for mental health support among underserved populations. She witnessed how systemic barriers, and a lack of cultural awareness made it incredibly difficult for individuals and families
to access the care they needed to thrive. This experience motivated her to pursue further education, and she obtained a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. This academic achievement deepened her understanding and
commitment to addressing the disparities she witnessed, allowing her to better serve the community.

Her personal journey also fuels her advocacy and practice. Having faced her own life challenges, Latoya knows firsthand how adversity can shape a person. However, she also deeply believes in the power of resilience and growth. This belief guides her not only in providing therapy but also in developing programs and initiatives that help individuals and families during difficult times.

As the founder of Blossoming Rose Inc., Latoya is breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within underserved communities. Through her work, which includes support groups, therapy services, and community-based programs, she is helping to make mental health care more accessible, encouraging people to prioritize their well-being and overcome the fear or shame that so often prevents them from seeking help.
